## Key pages

- [Services](https://example.com/services): What we build and the areas we serve
- [FAQ](https://example.com/faq): Permits, timelines and warranties
Tips for a useful llms.txt
- Make the summary specific. “Hardscape design for homes in Austin” beats “Your trusted outdoor partner”.
- Describe every link. A short description tells an AI tool what it will find there.
- Keep it short. Your 10 to 30 best pages are better than every page on the site.
- Update it when pages change. A list of broken links doesn’t help anyone.
llms.txt is optional and its impact is still unproven. Getting cited in AI answers depends far more on having clear, useful pages that AI crawlers are allowed to read. Use the AI Crawler Checker to make sure they can.
