SEOGrove vs Outrank vs SEObot (2026): Which Autonomous SEO Tool Fits You?
Outrank, SEObot, and SEOGrove all sell the same promise: connect your site, and articles start appearing on it without you writing them. Look past the homepages and they are making different bets. Outrank bets on volume and add-ons. SEObot bets on long articles at a low entry price. SEOGrove bets on small operators running several sites who care about showing up in AI answers as much as in Google.
We build SEOGrove, so read this with that in mind. We have tried to be fair: every competitor price and feature below comes from their public pages as of October 6, 2026, and we say plainly where they beat us.
The short version
- Pick Outrank if you want the most articles per dollar on one site, lots of languages, and you are happy to buy add-ons for backlinks and tools.
- Pick SEObot if you want long-form articles on one site at the lowest starting price and you publish to a CMS SEOGrove does not support yet, such as Webflow or Framer.
- Pick SEOGrove if you run more than one site, want to know whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini actually mention you, and want free tool pages included in the plan instead of sold separately.

“Not listed” means we could not find it on the vendor’s public pricing or feature pages. It does not prove the feature is missing.
Article volume: Outrank wins on raw count
If the only number you care about is articles per month on a single site, Outrank’s 30 for $99 is hard to beat, and it adds 60 or 90 per month for more. SEObot emphasises length instead, with articles that typically run 3,000 to 4,000 words.
SEOGrove starts at 10 articles per month for $29. We chose fewer, more targeted articles because most of our customers run small sites where 30 posts a month would outpace their keyword list within a quarter. Each SEOGrove article is planned from Google Search Console data when you connect it, gets schema markup, and can be refreshed later when rankings slip. Whether that trade is right depends on your niche. If you are covering a huge topic in many languages, volume matters more.
AI search visibility: the gap between the three
All three tools write for Google. The difference is whether they tell you what happens in AI answers. A growing share of research starts in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, or Google’s AI Overviews, and those answers cite a handful of sources.
SEOGrove runs citation sweeps on every plan. We ask the major models the questions your buyers ask, record whether your site is cited, track share of voice against competitors, and feed the gaps back into what gets written next. Outrank and SEObot do not list anything equivalent on their pricing pages today. If AI visibility is why you are buying, this is the clearest reason to choose SEOGrove.
Free tool builders: three very different approaches
Free tools such as calculators, checkers, and generators often rank for searches where an article cannot. “Gravel calculator” or “meta description checker” searchers want something to use, not 2,000 words to read. All three vendors now build tools, and the way they do it says a lot about each product.
Outrank’s Tools Builder has its AI write a custom web app for
each tool and publishes roughly one per week to a subdomain or /tools path on your
domain. Tools that need AI call it while visitors use them, and usage beyond 20,000 AI
requests a month is billed on top. It is a $99/month add-on on top of the main plan.
SEObot publishes each tool as a long article page with an embedded AI form. That gives every tool plenty of indexable text, which is a smart SEO pattern. The tradeoff is that the tool itself is a prompt sent to a language model, including tools that are really arithmetic.
SEOGrove includes 2 to 5 tool pages per site every month in the plan price. Like Outrank, it designs a custom tool for your business, such as a gravel calculator for a stone yard or a trail finder for a ski resort. The difference is what happens before you see it. SEOGrove writes worked examples, has a separate calculation check them, then runs the finished tool in a real browser and only shows it to you if it reproduces every example. Calculations run in plain JavaScript, so the same inputs always give the same answer, and AI is used only for genuinely open-ended text. Prices, rates and lists sit in an editable table on the review page, so you can set your own numbers without regenerating anything. Each tool ships with a full page of copy and FAQ schema, and publishes as native HTML to WordPress or through webhooks.
A practical test for any tool builder: open the tool, enter numbers you can check by hand, and see whether the answer is right. A wrong estimate on a quote calculator costs you a customer.
Backlinks: all three use exchanges in some form
Outrank includes an automated backlink exchange and sells larger link packages from $199 to $1,899 per month. SEObot advertises AI-driven backlink building. SEOGrove’s exchange is opt-in per site and only places a link when a related article from another participating site is a genuine topical match, at most one per article.
Any exchange carries some risk, because Google treats manipulative link schemes as spam. Whichever tool you choose, keep exchanges opt-in, relevant, and a small part of your link profile.
Pricing for people with more than one site
This is where the products differ most for indie hackers. Outrank prices per site with volume discounts of 10% for 2 to 4 sites and 15% from 5 sites, so five sites cost roughly $420 per month before add-ons. SEOGrove’s Growth plan covers five sites for $69 per month with 35 articles shared across them, and Pro covers 15 sites for $149. SEObot does not list multi-site pricing publicly.
If you run one site and want maximum output, the per-site models are fine. If you run a portfolio of small sites, a pooled plan is usually much cheaper.
Where SEOGrove is behind
To save you a sales call:
- Fewer CMS integrations. WordPress and webhooks today. Webflow, Shopify, Framer, and Ghost users need a webhook receiver or a different tool for now.
- Fewer languages. 11, against 50+ for SEObot and 150+ for Outrank.
- Lower article volume on the starting plan.
Which one should you choose?
If you own one site, publish in many languages, and want as many articles as possible, Outrank is built for you. If you want long articles on a popular CMS for the lowest starting price, look at SEObot. If you run several small sites and want to know whether AI assistants recommend you, with tools and schema included instead of sold as add-ons, try SEOGrove free for 14 days.
